Christian Kapp Earns RPI Football Team Award

The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) football team has announced its year-end team award winners and Christian Kapp of Westchester (10501) has been selected.

The team's Special Teams Player of the Year, Kapp (Iona Prep.) was first on the Engineers in scoring with 59 points thanks to nine (of 12) field goals, including a long of 47 yards, and 32 (of 32) point-after-touchdown kicks. The All-Liberty League Second Team choice kicked off 51 times with an average of 57.7 yards with nine touchbacks.

The Engineers concluded the regular season with a 21-12 victory over Union College in the Dutchman Shoes Trophy Game and then beat SUNY Maritime, 38-6, in the ECAC Scott Whitelaw Bowl, giving them a 6-5 overall record.
