Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Jaime Lord of Stony Point 10980 has been selected as the Women's Track Performer of the Week by the Liberty League, the conference has announced. This is the junior's first honor of the 2016-17 season.

At the Dartmouth College Classic on Saturday, Lord (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) won the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:09.03, which was nearly seven seconds in front of the runner-up (10:16.62). There were 32 competitors in the event with runners from all three NCAA divisions. The meet was non-team scoring.

The week before, at the Middlebury College Invitational, the aeronautical engineering major was second in the 24-person mile, crossing in a time of 5:08.33. She was just behind the winner (5:07.19) and more than three seconds ahead of the third place finisher (5:11.49).

As a sophomore, Lord was the Liberty League Track Performer of the Week four times and the conference's Track Performer of the Year after finishing third at the NCAA Championship Meet in the 3000 meters, earning National All-America.

Lord and her teammates return to competition on Saturday when they compete in the Liberty League Championship Meet in Rochester, N.Y. Lord is the defending champion in the mile as well as the distance medley relay.
