Jessica Kugelman Earns Liberty League Weekly Award

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Jessica Kugelman of Tappan (10983) has been selected for a weekly award by the Liberty League for an outstanding effort in swimming & diving.

Kugelman (Tappan Zee), the Liberty League Rookie of the Week, took first off both diving boards against the Tigers, winning off the 1-meter with 212.50 points and the 3-meter with 234.45 points. She held a 22.50 point advantage in the 1-meter and a 56-point edge in 3-meter. A civil engineering major, Kugelman participated in six years of varsity swimming in high school, earning team Most Valuable Player as a senior and the Most Improved Award twice. She ranked 22nd in the state as a senior.

RPI, which is coached by Shannon O'Brien, returns to competition when it travels to Ithaca College for a dual meet on Saturday (1pm).
