2017 Oct 17

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Jessica Kugelman of Tappan 10983 has been chosen for a weekly women's swimming & diving award by the Liberty League.

The Diver of the Week, Kugelman won off both boards against the Tigers. In the 1-meter competition, the civil engineering major registered a score of 258.75 to beat nine others, including the runner-up, who finished with a 207.20. She then won from 3-meters with 245.75 points - almost 50 points better than the runner-up (195.50). There were six competitors in the event.

Rensselaer is back in action on October 28 when it hosts Ithaca College in a meet at Robison Pool.

Founded in 1824, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is America's oldest technological research university. For nearly two centuries, the Institute has been a driving force behind breakthroughs in engineering and science in virtually every arena-from transportation and infrastructure to business, medicine, outer space, and cyberspace.

As it approaches its bicentennial anniversary, the Institute continues to define The New Polytechnic, a new paradigm for teaching, learning, and research that uses advanced technologies to enable fresh collaborations across disciplines, sectors, and regions, in order to answer the global challenges of our day.
